Narikala Fortress and a part of the old town. 1880s.

In the 4-18 cc. Narikala used to be the main citadel of the city. It is as old as the city itself. The fortress underwent numerous destruction's and restorations. Several layers of different epochs can still be seen. Archaeological excavations in 1966-67 uncovered a king's palace and St. Nicolas Church which existed here in late feudal time.
